Well It’s time to make this announcement…as hard as it is.
After much prayerful thought and consideration we would like to announce that PV will be taking time away from music as a duo to focus on other individual avenues.
Most all of our friends and fans know that our heart… while engrossed in music, also beats for another cause.…the orphans of Sierra Leone.
For many years we believed that it was a necessity to build a career that would serve as a platform to spread awareness for the cause God has placed on our hearts. Through it all…we have learned that he doesn’t need our platform… he simply needs us….every part of us… we have learned our lives are not our own…in the end we belong to him and want nothing more than to honor him with every step we take.
Between our music, weddings, raising children, and running an orphanage, our music has continued to take a back seat. While we will always continue to collaborate as a duo we will no longer be creating music as PV….at least for the time being… we have not closed the door on recording another record in the future but at this time… focusing on individual goals and plans is the road we have chosen to take.
Some may ask… What is the plan? Well…Kelly will be taking much needed time off to focus on starting her family and will be digging deeper into her role within our foundation The Raining Season. She will working to develop our travel program within TRS and will be helping others learn how to use their lives to impact the world… one child at a time… I could not be happier for her! She is also in the process of adopting two little boys from Sierra Leone and is anxiously preparing to begin her life as a new mom!
As for myself… I will be focusing on my 2013 speaking tour… settling in with our 3 newest additions to our family… and preparing to record my first solo album. Yes our lives are chaotic… but even so… my passion for music… for the song… is stronger than ever. I have so much to say… to share through my music… and hope that once it’s finished it will be something that will speak to your heart…and give you hope… whoever you are…wherever you are.
I have been asked if Kelly supports my decision to create music outside of Picking Violets…. I can honestly say that there is no one more supportive. She has stood by me through some of the hardest moments I have ever faced and she understands the need to turn the journey I have experienced into music…she understands recording this next record is something I have to do.
We stand firmly united in this decision and appreciate all of your support and prayers over the years.
We hope at the end of the day… when you think about PV… you are reminded to use your life… to spend every moment giving all of your love away… to the ones who need it most.
